Abstract

This investigation aims to contribute to the study of the Portuguese presence in the city of São Paulo, from 1890 and 1950. The analysis seeks to recover the net of everyday relations among the Portuguese immigrants and the dimensions of their working experiences, reaffirming the activities and commerce, occupations that absorbed both men and women, in their diversity as in their dynamic, observing the plot of relations and tensions established between national and foreign, bosses and employees.
