Abstract

In some visual art manifestations throughout history, we verify the use of  support as participant element of the art work construction. One is about a transposition of limits, when the language exceeds its borders and create a hibrid information of the two languages. This boundary crossing is also true with respect to the overlap between the verbal and visual codes in the artistic work. This language`s border transposition happens when it increases the intensity of the dialogue in common, creating points between one and other and making easier the migration of elements. Such transgressions can be studied through the concepts of excess and limit in neobarroco, two cultural actions that confront distinct procedures: to keep within the space surround and to tend to the limit and cross the border into the excess. Amongst the possibilities to illustrate such procedure, we opt to the graphite, a visual-verbal manifestation whose support is the urban architecture and that easily it exceeds the limit of its comunicative space when inserting themselves in the support or when mix verbal and visual information.
