Abstract

In this study, we have tried to describe the main speech disorders in cleft palate patients, concerning the data found in literature and added by those carried out by our own clinical experience. It was clearly shown that compensatory articulations were developed when an organic functional involvement was present. However, a peculiar and individual articulatory pattern has been observed in some patients, which was described, but without a specific terminology.
