The objective of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis on the phenomenon of Mathematics Anxiety (MA). This phenomenon significantly impacts a large number of individuals, causing them to experience emotions such as fear, escape and stress in contexts related to mathematics. The bibliometric analysis was conducted using the guidelines of the Bradford Law, which allowed analyzing the most productive journals on a given topic; Lotka's Law, which brought elements to the analysis of authors' productivity; and, Zipf's Law, which made it possible to analyze the distribution of indexing keywords in the texts. The study was carried out in four phases: (1) review of relevant literature; (2) planning and executing data collection; (3) analysis and tabulation of the data obtained; and (4) presentation of results and suggestions for future research in the area. 1,175 articles were identified in the Scopus database, searching for the term “math anxiety” in the title, abstract and keywords, without a time frame. The results indicated that greater productivity is related to affiliations in the USA, whose global citation rate is also higher. It was also found that there is a substantially low number of authors with ten or more publications on the topic. This finding is in line with the low degree of development in research topics relevant to science and technology, and a high degree of development in isolated or peripheral topics, as well as the existence of emerging themes, which corroborates the growth of studies on AM in the last decade.
