José Paulo Paes: entre o crítico literário e o poeta para crianças

The present work intends to study the relationship between José Paulo Paes´ work for children and his critical thought. In order to study the creation process of José Paulo Paes’ children’s poetry, we opted to analyze the four main elements required for the making of a poem: sound, form, language and image. Through the analysis of José Paulo Paes’ work for children in view of these four elements, we can perceive similarities between the poet’s work and the children’s act of playing. In addition to this review, a brief comparison between José Paulo Paes’ children poetry and the children’s poetry with pedagogical focus exclusively. Finally, we intend to show the importance of critical thought in the poet´s creation process.Downloads
