Abstract

It is known that the place has dimensions and limits fluid, can be collective in its expansion, that is, everyone can "occupy" the same place, but always individual in its existence. Each individual sees his idea of place, space. This connection with what is both inside and Pool is awakened from its dormant state by the memory of smell, the gentle touch of a perfume, or the "bitter sweet things" that is experienced through the window of the soul. We believe that the place, that which is full of feelings, of (inter) relationships, symbols significant pre-existing or created, builds or strengthens identity of the subject. This place occupies the primary sense of being human and takes refuge in memory. His experience, real or strongly imagined, is the plan of escape, safety, disturbance of adventures or just contemplating the contemporary artist in a world - said Post-Modern - in that utopia does not make sense. And it is these terms that the poetics of Manoel de Barros shows the place as a builder of your personal identity and fictional.
