Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss adolescence as a historically produced cultural conception, besides its close connection with the consumer market. In this universe, the goal is to locate the literature produced for young people and its role in this stage of the human maturation process. Thus, it is important to mention the position taken by Tzvetan Todorov, pondering that “Literature is not born in a vacuum but in the center of a set of living speeches, sharing with them many characteristics; it is no coincidence that, throughout history, its borders have been inconsistent”.
