This article aims to analyze the aesthetic-political and literary dimension of black female authorship in the syllabi or lesson plans of graduate programs at Brazilian public universities, specifically in the Northeast region. It seeks to recognize and address the institutional gaps that propagate white and male hegemony in literatures, committing to the institutional anti-racist struggle. The text also proposes to reflect and provoke the discussion of literary representativeness within the academy, questioning the canon. To this end, the discussion undertaken is in dialogue with intellectuals such as Audre Lorde (2019), Toni Morrison (2019), Conceição Evaristo (2007; 2009), Frantz Fanon (2008), Sueli Carneiro (2005), Edimilson Pereira (2016), etc. The conclusive dimension is that there are profound distances between female-authored literature (non-black and black) and male-authored literature in the syllabi or course plans; which indicates the need to have a broader discussion on topics such as silencing, canon, power and discourse.
