Meanings between word and image in digital literature

Contemporary literature, with a strongly intermedial nature, is shaped by technical changes that affect the production, circulation, and reception of texts, which is especially true in the context of digital literary productions (Gainza, 2018). In this sense, media boundaries (Rajewsky, 2010) are strongly crossed, considering that such productions articulate different media to generate meaning, such as the word and its relationship with the image. Given these premises, the objective of this text is to analyze how intermediality constitutes the work e-Imigrações (2021), by Alckmar Santos, Rafael Duarte and Vinícius Hennning – a literary production that, as a piece of digital comics, mixes sound, image and text, creating tension in the media border zones and exploring the influence this mix has on the creation of digital literature.
