Abstract

This paper refers to the ongoing research on the child’s constitution as a reader in a language coming from situations where there is resistance to outline the position of a reader. The focus will lay on children who can produce relatively organized or expected texts regarding each stage of their development in writing and that, surprisingly, do not show consistent performance in reading. There is, in these cases, a puzzling asymmetry between the abilities of reading and writing which is, many times, considered symptomatic or pathological. This research aims to reflect on issues raised by this type of occurrence, which leads children to the speech therapist's clinic.
