Abstract

This article analyzes the discourse about writing present in a from the most requested Portuguese book by municipal public schools of Belo Horizonte two years ago. The study indicated a contradictory conception of writing constructed by two speeches: one conception is connected with “tradition” and considers writing as an imitation of ‘good authors’; the other conception is based on recent linguistics theories’ influences that consider writing education from the social use of texts.
