This study aims to discuss how an English language teacher education proposal developed in a language school franchise, located in Anápolis-GO, after the implementation of a study group. As a theoretical framework, we draw on post-structuralism, post-modernism, Critical Applied Linguistics and decolonial thinking studies. The empirical material was generated from the oral narratives of four teachers who worked in the school in the year of 2018. Our problematizations demonstrated that the teachers were able to take a more critical and situated look at their professional context after contact with the theoretical texts and the discussions held in the study group.
