The topic of this article is the formation ofinternational oil trusts and the international cartelthat exists in this sector. Keeping mind that thecreation of both of these has been accompaniedby the rise of imperialism, we seek to identify theprinciple authors of imperialism in order to help usunderstand the formative process and premises ofthe trusts and the cartel, emphasizing the work ofLenin. We focus on the formative process of theStandard Oil Company, which became the principletrust in this sector and influenced the destiny ofvarious countries and peoples, particularly on theperiphery of capitalism.
