Abstract

This article evaluates the issues that preceded theParis Commune, especially between March and May of 1871. Considered as a historical construction ina period of power dualism (workers, bourgeoisie)the Commune presented standards of struggle formoments of seizure of power and political transitionfrom the bourgeois state to the proletarian state. Those standards can be perceived in the variousattempts at socialist revolution during the 20thcentury: the seizure of political power, changesin the political and institutional structures of thestate – reoriented toward the future elimination ofthe state itself. The failures of these conflicts donot invalidate the revolutionary and emancipatoryprinciple of the workers’ struggles in differenthistorical moments.
