Tendencies in the configuration of work in the telecommunications sector in Brazil

Abstract

More than ten years after the sale of the statetelecommunications companies, this article tries to point out some tendencies in theconfiguration of forms of labor in this sector,which have been modified significantly since thereforms of the FHC government. In this contextof change, whose principle characteristic is themajor increase in outsourcing, it is possible toperceive that the increase in the number ofjobs did not bring with it general improvementsin work conditions. This situation has broughtabout a redefinition of union struggles andactions. Finally, we point out some possiblechanges in this scenario recently.
