Abstract

The revival of Marxism as scientific knowledge, criticism and as an emancipating project must incorporate the victories of the Marxisms of the 20th century. Nowadays, the capitalist market has become a truly secular religion, which makes the new way of viewing the world inaugurated by Marx more modern than ever. Nevertheless, the heritage of Marxist analysis also presents limitations, specially when one considers the relations between production and socio- cultural life and between production and natural environment. And the best way to overcome those limitations is to regard Marx’s ideas as a building site, over which generations of critical Marxists continue to work.
