Abstract

This article attempts to relate the trajectory of the Mexican liberal exiles, led by Ricardo FloresMagón, the major radical opposition figure to Porfírio Díaz up until the Mexican Revolution(1910), to their concrete political experiences during the pre-revolutionary period. It identifiesthe pattern of class struggle in Mexico and contacts with the U.S. labor movement as thefundamental vectors of a process of political and ideological radicalization that is commonlyattributed to anarchist influence.
