Abstract

The Latin American subcontinent undeniably entered a new political period a few years ago, especially after the death of Hugo Chávez in March 2013, when governments of the right or extreme right (as in Brazil) began to multiply. Moving beyond the discussion of the “end of the cycle,” it makes sense to critically evaluate the so-called “progressive” and national-popular experiences in a context of crisis and conservative reflux.
