Abstract

This article recounts the experience of the “Women Who Read Women” Book Club of Campinas, São Paulo, with the reading and comparative discussion of the book Sexual Relations and Class Struggle, by Alexandra Kollontai, and parts of the book Women in Class Society: Myth and Reality, by Heleieth Saffioti, which occurred on September 30, 2017. During the debates the participants noted the political and theoretical developments of the gender questions raised by the authors and the overlap of that topic with the other contradictions of the dominant capitalist ideology, with Saffioti being fundamental to this understanding due to her theoretical break with the patriarchal epistemology and the richness of the information and references contained in her work.
