This article examines how teaching practice and pedagogical supervision within supervised internships contribute to the development of teaching competencies and to the improvement of mathematics learning in primary education. It is grounded in a theoretical framework that integrates conceptually oriented mathematics teaching, the use of manipulable instructional resources and reflective and collaborative supervision. It adopts a qualitative, descriptive-reflective approach, developed within the supervised internship of the Master’s program in Primary Education Methodology at ISCED-Benguela, in schools of the municipality of Benguela. Data were collected through observation of practices, analysis of lesson plans and reflective records. The findings indicate that active strategies and manipulable resources enhance student participation and meaningful mathematical learning, and that collaborative supervision strengthens professional development and the articulation between theory and practice, confirming the internship as a central space for improving the quality of mathematics education in primary schooling.
