Youth and gangs

Abstract

In the field of Psychology, youth is delined by the relation between age and personality development. lt is in the network of sociability that the young workout their values. Third world countries think of distinct youth groups. One of these constitutes an expresslve contingent if one considers the amount of outcasts ln the. economy and ln the cultura. A person who is neither a student nor a worker is considered a pariah: the outcast. This one, according to the media point of view, is linked to the idea of criminafity and poverty and responsible for collective violence. There is a diversity of gangs: skin-heads, punks, anarco-punks, white-power, showing the prevalence of the cultural content over the economics. ln Brazil, the majority of young people is out oi school, expandlng the great number of outcasts. The "waver" of gangs is planetary, its ideology is worldwide. The larget of attack, the "different", considered the privileged. What is the state and the Civil Society capacity of generaling a national project in conditions of guaranteeing the citizenship of the majorities?
