"False employment" and work relations on digital transport platform

This article analyzed the relationship between institutional content and the practice of digital transport platforms regarding the promises and reality that are configured in the commercial relationship between these platforms and the drivers registered on them. From a qualitative nature (content analysis and semi-structured interviews; n=9), this research had two steps: first, we analyzed the institutional content exposing one of these platforms' positioning. In the second stage, in-depth interviews were carried out with drivers registered on the platform analyzed, seeking to validate or not the platform's institutional content. The interviewees' statements suggest satisfaction with the remuneration offered by the platform. On the other hand, there was great discomfort concerning the treatment, mainly regarding security and the platform's evaluation process. False employment is evidenced in the interviewees' statements, fearful of losing the platform access as an alternative for subsistence due to negative evaluations.
