The emerging ESG culture in our society has challenged the necessary, if not essential, profile of organizational managers. This article discusses the need for professionals with the necessary skills and competencies to meet the new agenda and seeks to clarify what hard, soft, green, and power skills are. The methodology was developed through a qualitative analysis with data collected in bibliographic research and a survey carried out with recruiters and managers. The results point to the most sought-after skills and how much they adhere to the challenges of a green economy and highlight the importance of the work of different stakeholders, including educational institutions and governments.
