RELIGIONS, SECULARISM AND HISTORY TEACHING: CULTURAL DIALOGUES FOR THE CLASSROOM WORK

For decades, the discussions about History of Religions have occupied space in different areas. However, the debates on basic education are still encountered on almost only peripherally or with stress upon specific doctrines. In this article, we analyses the proposals to the insertion of the arguments about religions in History teaching, particularly like a topical that contribute to otherness construction, citizenship formation and countering religious intolerance. Stem from Cultural History, we present proposals that make classroom debates promote the historicity and the cultural representations, encouraging a plural debate. In this regard, we conclude that the input of this theme in basic education is fundamental to the education of citizens.Downloads
