Social theater and engaged theater are two denominations, among others, who have been established in the midst of a lively debate that spanned the late nineteenth century and was consolidated in the twentieth century. This article addresses the issue of engagement in general, taking into account both theater groups post-1964 as the dramatists who, as political figures, critically involved in the public sphere, bringing not only the order transgression and the critical existing, but also the critics about the way of insertion in the capitalist mode of production and therefore the criticism of form and content of its own activity.Downloads
