Abstract

ABSTRACT
The congenital melanocytic naevi (CMN) are pigmented lesions originated from the abnormal accumulation of melanocytes in a neuroectodermal ectopic location and are present in 1% of newborns. However the giants CMN only occur in 1:20,000 live births, the typical "bathing suit" distribution is very rare, being present in only 1:500,000 live births. In this article the authors report a case of "bathing suit" giant CMN because of its rarity, revising the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of this disease.
