Abstract

ABSTRACT Backgrounds: The acute dissection of the aorta (DAA) represents a catastrophic event that in spite of the instituted therapeutics has high mortality rate anywhere in the planet. The main objective of the study was to identify the risk factors in the studied population. Method: Observational study, analytical, of historic coorte type, involving 243 patients submitted to necropsy in the Service of death verification of FCM of CCMB/PUC-SP in the period of ten years. Stratifying the target population in study samples being the first group (G1) formed by bearers of chronic dissection and the second group (G2) for bearers of acute dissection. Comparative analysis for independent samples and contingency analysis. Alpha error admitted of five percent. Work approved for the Ethics Commission of the Institution. Results: Statistical significance was evidenced for: systemic arterial hypertension (HAS) (P=0.0030); previous atherosclerosis (P=0,0058) and use of vasoactive poisonous drugs (P=0,0058). Conclusions: The risk factors identified in the casuistic were: high blood pressure, atherosclerosis and use of vasoactive poisonous drugs. There was no superiority of the images in the diagnose of acute aortic dissection (DAA) when compared to the necropsy (P=0,072) and the prevalence of the disease in the present casuistic was of 4,94%.
