Abstract

Introduction: The occurrence of musculoskeletal pain may be related to the work activity performed by a worker and constitutes a serious human and economic problem throughout Brazil, given that reduction in work effectiveness is linked to work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the benefits of Quick Massage in complaints of musculoskeletal pain from administrative staff of a university institution. Method: This is a pilot study with 12 participants divided into two groups. Each received one (G1) or two (G2) weekly Quick Massage sessions for eight weeks, and were evaluated in three moments. Results: Participants from both groups reported pain during the workday, especially in the neck, low back and dorsal body regions. There was a reduction in symptoms in the eighth week of intervention as compared with the first, with no significant differences in the frequency of Quick Massage application. Conclusions: Regardless of the frequency offered, Quick Massage is a beneficial resource for pain reduction in administrative workers.
