The advent of the new coronavirus pandemic, nursing professionals had to deal with all the uncertainties of COVID-19. As a result, the team needed to create resources to cope with the situations experienced. The objective of this study was to analyze the evidence available in the literature on occupational stress and coping strategies of the nursing team in COVID-19. This is an integrative literature review, with a search for publications between 2020 and 2022, available in the BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE and BDENF databases. From the selection criteria, seven articles were obtained for the analysis of the results. The review indicated the most recurrent stressors were the fear of contamination of nursing professionals and their families, lack of knowledge about the unpredictability of the virus and work overload. The coping strategies adopted by them were the support of colleagues and family members, the search for greater knowledge about the pandemic and the disease, spirituality and faith. It is concluded that counseling by a specialized professional to support health professionals can help in coping, making scenarios less hostile and with less impact on mental health.
