Importance of individual attitude and self-esteem in the search for executive leadership positions by women

Abstract

The objective of this study is to understand how Brazilian women overcome career obstacles and reach executive leadership positions. The chosen methodology was a qualitative study, of an applied nature and with exploratory objectives. The case study method was used, also using the principles of the life history methodology during data collection. The empirical results of the study indicate that questioning, moral harassment and difficulty in balancing professional and personal life are the main obstacles faced by the participants in this study.
