Circulation, Re-Accentuation and Memory in the Press

Abstract

This paper follows up previous research on the circulation of discourses in the media. It starts with a discussion of some concepts developed in Bakhtin’s circle’s dialogic theory and analyzes texts from the media to suggest that the choice of words, the reference and the re-accentuation of the discourse of the other are constitutive of the inter-discursive memory, of the positioning of the author, and of the meaning.
