Abstract

This paper proposes to present discussions of the Self (self-awareness) of the character Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, from the notion of polyphony proposed by Bakhtin. An analysis of polyphony and its aspects around the Dostoevskian characters is held, verifying the issue of equipollence voices of the characters, their simultaneity and interaction as well as the notion of self-awareness as elements making up the spectrum of the polyphony of Bakhtin.
