Abstract

The goal of this article is to analyze the verbal visual representation of the caipira within the paintings of Almeida Júnior and in post-cards of Guilherme Gaensly. The objective is to understand the relations of dependency between the “me” who portraits and the “other” pictured within the historical social context. The picture and the photography recuperate different meanings that are built in the culture of this worker. The images allow us to establish dialogical relations between its activities and the tense social relations that submit him.
