To see the world with the eyes of genre: towards a bakhtinian genre analysis

Abstract

This work presents principles of defi nition and analysis of discourse genre – in its vital correlation with spheres of activity – In terms of authorial agency. This agency implies the organization of an architectonics, and encompasses, subsuming, thematic unit, compositional form and style. The nucleus of genres is thus composed by the enunciative devices of creation of relationships between interlocutors, and between them and the discourse object, constituting them, at the same time as they are constituted by them inside a given sphere of production, circulation and reception of discourses.
