Operation of genre of discourse

Abstract

This paper discusses the founding concept of genre discourse proposed by Bakhtin (2003). It addresses linguistic and discursive studies that form the basis for understanding both the constitution and the modus operandi of the genre of discourse. The proposal is to analyze the notion of genre considering the correlation between the elements of its composition, the production conditions (circumstances of enonciation and their socio-historical context) and social subjects participating in the discursive process.
