PERNAMBUCANIDADE, NORDESTINIDADE, BRASILIDADE: POLÍTICAS CULTURAIS E CANONIZAÇÕES ACADÊMICAS DA CULTURA BRASILEIRA
Abstract
Taking as a starting point the attempts at the academic canonization of Brazilian culture, which took place mainly between the 1960s and 1970s, the article addresses the ways in which certain characters and institutions from the cultural and political context of the period used their places of knowledge and power as a way of establishing their visions of culture as victorious. It deals, therefore, with cultural models proposed in the period, such as the luso-tropicology of Gilberto Freyre, the Marxist sociology of Caio Prado Júnior and the armorial movement of Ariano Suassuna, around which other characters circle who approach their readings. from Brazil. It is worth, in the text, to analyze the ways in which these perspectives of Brazil and Brazilian culture approached or distanced themselves from the civil-military dictatorship in force in the country.
