Abstract

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how Monteiro Lobato expresses his outlook on modern art through Dona Benta, a character from his novel, O Minotauro (The Minotaur). The
analysis examines excerpts from this novel in comparison with others from Ideias de Jeca Tatu.
