In the present work, I intend to revisit the novel A Cidade de Ulisses, by Teolinda Gersão (2012), looking at its structuring organicity and erotic content. Starting from excerpts selected by the author herself, I rely on critics, theorists and literary authors such as George Steiner, David Hillman and Ulrike Maude or David Mourão-Ferreira. I develop here, through a very unconventional discursive strategy, a fictional dialogue with the autodiegetic narrator. I seek to highlight, discuss and problematize aspects combined in the work, such as the Homeric affiliation of the character and his city, the erotic spatialization, the role of art or the libidinal genesis of the creative process. In this fictional universe, I believe, such elements are globally subsumed by the artistic reconstitution of a female body turned into a myth, to which this essay can virtually give a voice.
