This article presents the mapping developed from the search for Brazilian dissertations and theses available electronically in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) in the period from 2017 to 2022, delimiting the quest to focus on the History of Science in Basic Education. The general objective of this research was: to analyze research of dissertations and theses produced in the country investigating the use of HC in interventions in Basic Education. This research was characterized by a qualitative approach, with a research typology of literature review, of the state of knowledge type. For the analysis of the 29 surveys, content analysis (CA) was used, which revealed the distribution of surveys by Year, the number of Graduate Programs, lines of research, Institution of Higher Education (HEI), geographic distribution, Contexts and research subjects, Levels, Steps and Modalities of teaching. The CA enabled the construction of a spreadsheet with the amount of research contained in the following categories: i) HC/Formation of the scientific concept; ii) HC/Use of Didactic Sequence (SD); iii) HC/Initial Teacher Training; iv) HC/Continuous Teacher Training. Based on the analysis, a polarization of the majority of research concentrated in the Southeast and South regions of the country was identified through mapping, in addition, a significant amount of research was evidenced that contemplated the theme addressed during the initial training of teachers. Among the categories of thematic focus of research, HC/Use of DS in DS planning stood out most frequently.
