Abstract

This article analyzes the student movement in the Argentine Cordobazo of May 1969 in light of the social struggles that erupted worldwide in the late 60s in the context of a global crisis of capital accumulation. The analysis of the social and political context of the conflicts of the 60s is based on the theory of accumulation regimes, which offers a rich panorama of the global situation of capitalism and the conflicts stemming from class and social group struggles. The interpretation of the student events of the 60s is based on the large body of literature and historical documents on the Cordobazo produced by the students themselves and the local press of the time.
