The COVID 19 pandemic imposed several transformations on people’s lives, with an important impact on the mental health of the general population. Several factors contributed to psychological suffering, especially social distancing. In this scenario, a large number of people sought online psychological help. We analyzed the profile and complaints of people who sought online psychological help in three university services from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) aiming to understand the psychological suffering during the pandemic and social isolation. It is a retrospective and comparative research, carried out through analysis of participants’ registration forms and screening reports between April and December 2020. The final sample was 628 forms, with 76.2% women, average age 36.6 years old. The main complaint reported in the three services was anxiety (24.8%), followed by depression (16.7%), with 39.3% of participants mentioning a worsening of their emotional conditions as a result of the impacts of the pandemic. This data is consistent with the majority of research found in a bibliographic review. Online services proved to be important as it made it possible to treat patients during the period of social distancing.
