Abstract

The paper presents some aspects of Paul Ricoeur´s theorie of text, metaphor and storytelling, exploited in two studies, Viva o Povo Brasileiro by João Ubaldo Ribeiro published as Le temps- Enigme des hommes, mystère de Dieu, and another called The God who comes to narration in Viva o Povo Brasileiro,  one of the chapters of the collective work: Plowing the Sacred - God in contemporary Brazilian literature (Aragem do Sagrado - Deus na literatura brasileira contemporânea). In both studies, the analysis of literary texts is followed by theological reading, showing the fecundity of Ricoeur´s thought in relation theology and literature.
