Abstract

The theopoetic dialogue brings together different conceptions and authors through the confluence of themes and common purposes, offering, on the one hand, new interpretative keys for literature, and on the other hand, broader understandings of important theological issues. Therefore, the present article aims to promote an encounter between authors from different contexts based on the experience of solidarity that permeates their works: Johann Baptist Metz, a German theologian whose work is marked by the Holocaust of the Jews in Auschwitz, and Scholastique Mukasonga, a writer, survivor and witness of the Rwandan genocide, which profoundly shapes her entire body of work. The intention of this reflection is to demonstrate how the dialogue between theology and literature can contribute to the recovery of society's historical and cultural identity, promoting ever deeper debates on experiences of solidarity, resistance, justice, hope, and many other themes that foster a deeper sense of humanity in the contemporary world.
