Abstract

ABSTRACT The present study analyzes the clinical characteristics of the cases confirmed of accidental tetanus in the population of Sergipe Brazil, between years from 2001 to 2006, describe the therapeutics possibilities of physiotherapy. It is an acute infectious disease, not contagious, the tetanus, caused by Clostridium tetani or bacillus tetani, but with morbi-mortality high and of the remaining survivors with sequels, most needs the physiotherapeutic cares. Verified then most patient from Sergipe present serious clinic symptoms, and when they survive, present motor neurology permanent sequels. Suggest then physiotherapeutic actuate extension over there of the rehabilitation, actuate in the prophylactic, too.
