The periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome is characterized by periodic episodes of high fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adenitis in age group of children aged between one and five years. The attacks of the disease occur in an interval of about 30 days, during which there are days children seem healthy. The symptoms tend to spontaneously attenuate with the advancement of age. Prednisone can be used to control signs and symptoms during the crisis. In some cases, tonsillectomy may be the best therapy. This article reports a case of PFAPA Syndrome and performs a review of its literature - clinical, diagnosis and treatment.Downloads
