ABSTRACTIntroduction: Kidney diseases decrease the reproductive capacity of women, and the conception may lead to both progression of the kidney disease, as to important obstetric complications. Description: We present the case of a patient with arterial hypertension secondary to chronic kidney disease diagnosed in the prenatal period, without prior control. Discussion: Prenatal care in a specialized service is determinant in the evolution of such pregnancies. The evaluation of renal function in hypertensive women is mandatory in prenatal care.
