Ibero-American Poetry: quotations and representation of Modernism in anthologies
Keywords:
Poetry Anthology, Modernism, Discourse Analysis, Dialogism, Otherness in discourseAbstract
This article presents a study of discourse on Spanish American Modernism and Brazilian Modernism - crucial topics to study identity representations in Latin America - in the paratext of the anthologies: Twentieth-Century Latin American Poetry by Stephen Tapscott and Apresentação da Poesia Brasileira by Manuel Bandeira. The analysis focuses on otherness in discourse - lineal and pictoric styles (Bakhtin, 1929/1988) - to build authorship. Results show both properties of dialectic discourse and discourse anchored in poetic materiality, and consequences regarding the development of the anthology genre.Downloads
