Abstract

The aim of this article is to review the concept of “education in values” related to the school curriculum debates. The theme of the constitution of the moral subject is not exempt from the school since its origin in the Modernity, however it has has been reduced to the regulating process of the individual in pre-defined framework. From the reflection on the formats that the moral education has assumed in the school curriculum, its conceptual comprehension is sought and alternatives are proposed in order to overcome the moralist prescription. This conception is called education in values, which has a recent history in school education. The article reviews this concept, its ethics scope, its place in school curriculum, and points to the importance of it being part of the colective work.
