Integridade e Prevenção de Plágio

Anti-Plagiarism Policy
Educação Matemática Pesquisa
adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards bad academic practices, committing itself to the highest ethical integrity in scientific publication. Plagiarism, in all its forms – improper appropriation of ideas, verbatim transcription without due credit, abusive paraphrasing, and self-plagiarism (recycling of content previously published by the author themselves) – constitutes a serious violation of copyright and the ethical principles governing research in Mathematics Education.
As part of our commitment to originality and scientific rigor, all submitted manuscripts undergo similarity verification using specialized software (such as Turnitin or CopySpider).

Procedures in Case of Plagiarism Detection
In order to guarantee the right to adversarial proceedings and a full defense, while preserving the scientific quality of the publication, the Journal Educação Matemática Pesquisa establishes the following procedures:

  1. During the submission and evaluation process:
If plagiarism and/or self-plagiarism is detected during the initial screening or throughout the evaluation process, the Journal's Editors will contact the author(s) and request clarifications regarding the occurrence. After analyzing the response, if the irregularity is confirmed, the Editors will inform of the permanent archiving of the manuscript, either before it is sent to reviewers or by concluding the process if it was already under evaluation.
  2. After the manuscript's publication:
If the manuscript is published and, subsequently, plagiarism and/or self-plagiarism is detected – whether by readers, original uncredited authors, reviewers, or any member of the academic community – the situation will be brought to the attention of the Editors. Upon being notified, the Journal Educação Matemática Pesquisa, through its Editors, will take the following measures:
  • Notification:It will contact the author(s) of the published article to officially inform them about the received complaint and the situation pointed out.
  • Defense:It will request formal clarifications regarding the reported fact, establishing a deadline for a response.
  • Decision and Retraction:After a careful analysis of the clarifications provided and the evidence, the Editorial Board will make a decision. If misconduct is confirmed, the Journal will inform the author(s) about the procedures for removing the published manuscript, issuing a retraction notice that will be linked to the original article in all indexes and databases, clarifying to the scientific community the reasons for the removal.

Authors are expected to ensure that the submitted work is unpublished and original, and is not under simultaneous evaluation in another journal. The correct attribution of authorship and respect for the intellectual property of other researchers and mathematics educators are fundamental for the construction of knowledge in our field.
