A Starting Point in the Process of Understanding the Needs of Information Systems Students in Relation to the Use of English

This paper aims to present the results of a study that may contribute to the understanding of the needs of Information Systems students in relation to the use of English. Due to the need to use computers and interaction with different departments of a company, the English language is part of their routine. Having this goal, discussions about the course, about the teaching of English for Specific Purposes and the teaching of reading and vocabulary were presented. The results indicate that the immediate need is to develop students’ reading ability. However, they also show the need of developing speaking and listening.Descargas
